I loved the stunning view from my room, and the friendliness of the staff made my stay here memorable, with the hotel being just a short walk from Cardiff Castle and the beautiful park views nearby.

Just a proper fit for a fleeting trip in Cardiff with all in all brilliant value for money. The gym, pool & bar were great. Check out nearby City Road for food options.

I really enjoyed my stay, especially the lovely spa where I indulged in a relaxing back massage and enjoyed some delightful afternoon tea. The indoor pool and steam room were so refreshing! One little downside was that the locker system in the spa could use an upgrade, but it didn't really ruin my experience. 😊

Spacious room with a comfortable bed but stained carpet was disappointing.

Our stay in the Superior Queen Room was enjoyable, with plenty of space for our toddler to play and a lovely view of the city. The well-equipped gym and pool were great for keeping us entertained during the rainy weather. However, the breakfast could use improvement, as the vegan options were lacking and some items were served lukewarm. The bathroom lacked sufficient water temperature warnings, which caused a minor issue during our stay.

We had a pleasant time during our stay. The hotel was perfectly located for exploring the city with easy access to the train station. The breakfast buffet stood out with its decent variety, keeping all of us, including my parent, satisfied and energized for our busy days.

In my wife’s opinion, the spa facilities need a good clean and maintenance.

Not what we expected

We spent a night in the Superior Queen Room and honestly, it was pretty disappointing. The lifts were so loud, it's like they were part of the ambience! On top of that, the in-room breakfast was decent, but staff could really use some training in customer service. Wouldn't recommend this place unless you like sleepless nights.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Mercure Cardiff. The spa facilities offered a great way to unwind, and the staff were exceptionally helpful throughout my visit. I did encounter some noise from the lifts. Nevertheless, the experience left me refreshed and rejuvenated!

Savoring the fresh local fish at The Clink Restaurant was a real delight! Plus, the Classic Triple Room was spacious, and the bar staff were dead-on friendly during my stay.

But the service was a bit dodgy, especially at the bar. Waiting ages for my bill and feeling like a bother for getting help really put a dampener. the iron in the room leaked all over my gear—just not cool.

Would recommend for a flying visit

Comfortable room, excellent service, with large floor-to-ceiling windows offering great views of the city and a lovely shower that looked brand new, making my stay very enjoyable and convenient.

Everything was perfect.

The swimming pool was big for a hotel pool and provided a good place to relax. The staff at the reception helped me quickly find another warm room after the initial one was too cold. I enjoyed that there were options for breakfast, including a nice burger for dinner.
